In an era where many claims and fads are exposed to the public, this book clearly outlines proper nutrition, fitness, and treatment of injuries.

From basic ankle taping to understandment of eating disorders, it is explicably obvious that this guide covers every topic in great detail. Each chapter contains objectives, key terms, and main idea segments.

Each of these aspects allows for simpler explanations of complex ideas. Furthermore, since this is a resource for those in the medical field, the book heavily covers anatomy and has step by step pictures of different skills and techniques used by athletic trainers. The discipline of sports medicine is a fast developing field, quite simply this book is an excellent guide for beginner and mid-level students.

Areas of conflict are few to arise since this book has been updated with the latest research from around the world. This quote is very important because it encompasses what being an athletic trainer is truly about. At the end of the day, everything that an athletic trainer does is solely for the athlete. Their sole duty is to protect and care for an athlete, because athletics should be based on enjoyment. This book overall gave me great insight and helped further my understanding of Sports Medicine.

It also served as a great aid for HOSA competitions. Health and fitness are topics not normally read about.
